Snow Removal Reminders

  1. Please remember that snow removal is a shared responsibility between the residents and The Gardens staff.
  2. We recommend that residents have brooms, snow shovels, ice scrapers and deicer on hand as the staff is not permitted to remove snow from or around resident’s vehicles
  3. In the event of snow, please park your car 3ft from the curb to help our team remove snow from walkways
  4. Please report any extremely hazardous areas to us so that we can make those areas a priority
  5. DO NOT walk on the pond. It may look frozen, but it is not this can be a major hazard
  6. The heating system runs off of the hot water in your tank. This means if you have your heat on it will drain the available hot water from your water tank, which may result in less hot water when you wish to take a shower.
  7. For best ventilation leave doors open to create a better flow of heat in all rooms.

Skillet Brie and Artichoke Heart Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 (6.7 oz) jar grilled artichoke hearts, drained
  • 1 (6 oz) container Greek yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely diced scallions
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel brie, cut into small chunks (you might not need the entire wheel)
  • 1 tsp (or more!) lemon zest, for garnish *optional

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375.
  2. In a bowl, stir together the artichoke hearts, Greek yogurt, minced garlic and scallions.
  3. Layer a few of the brie chunks in the bottom of a 6-inch skillet, then spoon the dip over the brie. Then tuck as much of the remaining brie as you can into the filling.
  4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is nearly bubbling over.
  5. Serve with your favorite crackers or crusty bread!
  6. Serves 4

Friendly Reminders

  • Despite the weather – rain, snow, etc. – please remember to pick up after your pets
  • Please dispose of cigarette butts properly, do not leave butts in the breezeways or on/around your balcony
  • Do not delay your maintenance requests, especially when it comes to leaks, so that the issue doesn’t worsen

Tips to improve the efficiency of your heating system

  • Turn your heat down about 10 minutes before taking a shower
  • Try not to take showers after you have been washing dishes, using the dishwasher or washing clothes; the tank will need time to recover to build up hot water
  • Since it takes time for your home to heat up, do not turn the heat off while you are at work or it will take twice as long to heat the apartment when you get home
  • Leave your heat at a comfortable level and not turn it off and on

On the Go Bagel Breakfast

Come by the Clubhouse on Monday, February 20th to grab a bagel or a pastry from Panera Bread. Breakfast will be available starting at 8am until we run out!

Please say Happy Birthday to…

Our maintenance tech, Pete on February 19th!
