F.W. Sullivan’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Party - Tuesday, March 17
F.W. Sullivan’s will be throwing a St. Patrick’s Day street party by shutting down street on Stafford, just like they did for Mardi Gras with sister restaurant Lady N’awlins. They’ll have green beer, music, bangers and mash and more. Stafford Avenue will be shut down from Main Street to the ally which runs behind Sully's from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Inside will run from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Virginia Festival of the Book - March 18-22
A series of book related workshops, talks, lectures and opportunities in Charlottesville. Headliners include Karin Slaughter, Edwidge Danticat, Maureen Corrigan and more.
Reel Paddling Film Festival - Saturday, March 21
The 9th annual Reel Paddling Film Festival showcases the world's best paddling films at the Byrd Theatre. Cold beer will be served and a raffle will be held between films.
Church Hill Irish Festival - Saturday, March 21 & Sunday, March 22
The Church Hill Irish Festival marks 30 years of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on the Hill with two days of music, Irish food, Irish dancing, bagpipes, socializing and a children’s play area. Irish food prepared by the ladies of the church, plus fish and chips and local vendors. Live music on two stages from over 30 bands, beer from Guinness and Loveland, as well as Irish coffee and wine. Includes a Hilltopper 5K and head shaving to benefit St. Baldrick’s. Free parking at 17th and Broad with three shuttle buses.
