If you live in an apartment in Glen Allen, VA you can have a blast at the 24th Annual Great American Indian Exposition and Pow Wow which is taking place this weekend at Richmond International Raceway.
The event, held this coming Friday - Sunday, features "over 200 American Indian dancers, singers, drummers, artists, and crafts persons" from over 100 tribes, including Haliwa-Saponi, Pamunkey, Piscataway, Chickahominy, Rappahannock, Cherokee, Sioux, Iroquois, Lumbee, Hopi, Mattaponi, Nansemond, Choctaw and Navajo.
There will be face painting for the kids, arts and crafts vendors and demos, live entertainment and bow-‘n-’ arrow shooting for the whole family.
There will be great food too, including buffalo stew, Indian Tacos and buffalo burgers, plus American fare.
The Richmond American Indian Pow Wow is Friday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 15, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Admission is $10 on Friday; and $10 for adults / $7 for children on Saturday and Sunday. The Richmond American Indian Pow Wow is at Richmond International Raceway Complex at 600 E. Laburnum Ave.
