Everyone knows that Virginia is for Wine Lovers. If you live in an apartment in Glen Allen, VA and you are over 21, head to the Central Virginia Wine Festival this weekend.

The Central Virginia Wine Festival will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 12:00-6:00pm rain or shine at the SnagAJob Pavilion located in Innsbrook, in Glen Allen.

This year’s event will feature 15 wineries from around Virginia, and is open to the public. Bring your chairs and enjoy the live music, food and beverages; beer sales; specialty-item and arts and crafts vendors.

Proceeds from this event go to local Virginia Tech scholarships.

There’s a lot to do in Richmond. As the capital of Virginia and one of America's most historic cities, Richmond has been called the "perfect blend of old and new." Today, Richmond is a thriving cosmopolitan center, offering cultural, business, entertainment and educational possibilities. Virginia is for the lovers of wine festivals. The next one on your radar should be the July 16th wine festival coming up in Ashland, as part of the 2011 Ashland Street Parties summer music series. All the essentials will be available; music, food, and wine.

King Edward and the BDs, premiere party and dance bands from Richmond, will provide the live soundtrack. Food, including smoked pork barbecue, will be available.

Virginia wineries Lake Anna, Cooper, Grayhaven and James River wineries will be featured. The purchase of a ticket includes a tasting from all wineries. Wine also can be purchased by the glass or bottle.
